This week's book is called Immortal Bird ( A Family Memoir) by Doron Weber. This is a true story about a father's love and struggles he has to try to save his son. While we meet the whole family in this story it is told by the father. The father is Doron Weber and his strong love for his son Damon comes through on every page. Damon was born with a congenital heart defect that required surgery when he was a baby. So from Damon's birth his father has a strong protective bond with him. As a teenager Damon is again diagnosed with an illness. As Doron fights for the best care for his son we see doctors and nurses drop the ball again and again. This is an extremely intense book and I will never look at doctors or hospitals in the same way.
