What I Read Wednesday

The book I'm (Michele) reviewing is the second book in the Kingkiller Chronicle, called The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfus. In this story Kvothe, the Innkeeper continues to tell his life story to The Chronicler. He has agreed to tell his story in three days. This book is day two.

In the present day Kvothe, who goes by the name Kote, is an Innkeeper and nothing like his former self. He had described himself as follows: "My name is Kvothe. I have stolen Princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felvian and left with both my sanity and life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during the day. I have talked to Gods, loved women and written songs that make the minstrels weep. You may have heard of me."

We don't know what has made this great man turn into a shadow of his former self. The main theme in this story is that Kvothe wants to find and destroy the "Chandrian" a group of seven who murdered his family and left him an orphan as a young boy. I can't wait for book number three!
